Christian N. Brooks,
Race and Gender Equity Advocate

Making the World a Better Place for Black Women, Like Me

Brave. Passionate. Outspoken. Unapologetic. These are just a few words to describe Christian Brooks. Christian is an experienced race and gender equity advocate committed to the healing and liberation of Black women.

Her advocacy journey began during her time in seminary when she started an advocacy group called Seminarians United for Racial Justice. Through this organization, Christian played a vital role in uplifting the voices of students of color and changing the seminary's culture for the better. Christian continued her advocacy work through the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) Office of Public Witness, where she led the organization's congressional advocacy work to strengthen federal civil and human rights legislation, specifically focused on prioritizing race and gender equity.

In this role, Christian worked on topics such as Black maternal health, reproductive justice, environment and climate justice, and reparations. This work fueled her desire to make life easier for BIWOC, like her. Thus Christian N. Brooks LLC was born. Christian N. Brooks LLC seeks to advance race and gender equity in organizations through workshops, consulting, and speaking engagements.

In addition to her advocacy work, Christian owns and operates Brooks Bookkeeping and Accounting Services. She aims to empower and educate women of color on their taxes and business finances through bookkeeping services, tax planning and preparation, and financial education.

Christian holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Pittsburgh, a Master of Divinity from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary, and a Master of Science in Public Policy and Management from Carnegie Mellon University.

She is certified in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the Workplace and is currently pursuing her Enrolled Agent certification.
